Our lifeline also has a timeline
Lifeline, we control
Timeline, controls us;
Both should be aligned,
Although they seldom are.

Timeline is precise, predictable and forever.
It cannot be stopped or slowed down.
Our lifeline is uncertain.
It changes conatantly, with ups and downs;
Pauses sometimes, stumbles or moves rapidly.

When lifeline lags timeline,
We maybe procrastinating.
When timeline lags lifeline.
We maybe precrastinating (*)
Both behaviors need to change.

Procrastinating is fear driven,
Hoping that avoidance may change the future.
Precrastination is impulsive,
Often thoughtless, check-list and anxiety driven.
Both behaviors are harmful.

Trying to keep our two lines in sync - may hurt;
Remember, time is also the biggest healer.
Time can bring changes to our lifeline.
What may hurt today, will heal tomorow.
Just, believe in yourself.

Bring a balance in your life.
Like the waves of the ocean,
Let the two lines move together, albeit apart.
Ensuring that they stay aligned,
Will bring clarity in your life, over time

* Precrastination is a modern psychological term coined by David Rosenbaum in 2014 to describe the compulsive urge to finish tasks immediately
