(A 1st Person Account)

I am – THE VIRUS; … As yet, I am indestructible (sure, you have found ways to slow me down) and for several of you Goliaths out there, this micro-David has proved fatal and managed to destroy you or your near/dear ones. I am invisible, I am omnipresent and I am – THE VIRUS, I AM – WHO I AM. Since like you, I am also a planet denizen – do not tempt me. Fear me and protect yourself – and you will be safe. I will not hesitate to invade your body and make you my host to propagate, in my attempt to dominate your planet – if you let your guard down. I have no soul and hence I have no idea of right or wrong. My genetic map-guide is to multiply and propagate at all costs.

I am not sure of when/where I came into existence. What I know of very clearly is that I found the perfect host right away, to exponentially multiply and spread to all corners of this planet in just over a few months. Given my size and your vast planet earth, this was truly a feat worthy of recording.

If over the last 9-months, you have not realized that I am in control of planet earth – you are either hidden way under the proverbial rock and have no idea of what is happening, OR, you are downright intellectually challenged with a total disregard for science and the truth. Our war is lob-sided. Though you have the power of intellect, size, technology and resources – you know that against me there can be no attack; ONLY DEFENSE will work for you. I will always win; though often with a formidable opponent I may lose a few battles – but will win the war in the end. With all your nuclear arsenal and deadly warheads you use to annihilate one another – I am still untouchable. I have robbed 7 billion of you of ‘normalcy’ or your way-of-life, over the last 9 months – and probably will continue to do so for the next 6-9 months too.

Have you spent time studying how miniscule I am compared to you – and yet you are powerless to do anything to eliminate me? Let me educate you – Your scientists have concluded upon analysis of negative-stained “SARS-CoV-2” (my scientific name/ID) articles by electron microscopy, that by size, my diameter is in the range between 60 nanometers (nm) and 140 nanometers (nm). We too are made up all sizes, like you in our society.  So let’s assume an average diameter of 100 nm. The average diameter of your human hair is 75 microns or 75,000 nm. So in 1 cm length of human hair I can accommodate an army of 10 million of my colleagues, loosely packed – just 1 of us, instead of 1000 tightly packed across the hair diameter.

Now imagine if you are not protected (or defensive, as I said earlier) – and one of your fellow affected humans, who still does not believe in my existence, and does not wear a mask – just opens his mouth to speak loudly (or cough/sneeze) in your close vicinity …. I will be all over you, looking for the warm nasal passage to find my way into your lungs. At this point, if you fall in the category where you have limited immune ability to fight my forces – it is game over for you.

After thriving in your midst for the last 9 months, I have watched you closely and evolved to some extent and feel bad for the havoc I have created. I cannot reverse this, nor can I stop this. I am a living organism/entity, and like you I have to exist and propagate. But you have options that you can follow to be defensive. You too need to exist and propagate. We need to learn to co-exist, although I will never miss an opportunity to continue my attacks. I am not stopping, or slowing down. I know that my existence here is not forever and one day you will discover the arsenal to kill me, or slow me down to be ineffective and harmless. Till then, I will continue my carnage and there will be no sympathy/empathy – if you give me the opportunity to invade your body.

So listen to me, once again – I AM NOT A HOAX — I AM THE VIRUS and in control.
